Telenav partners with Grab over connected car solutions – ET Auto

New Delhi: Location-based service provider Telenav has joined hands with Grab for development of connected car technologies, informed the company in a release.

Under this strategic partnership, between these two companies, Telenav will boost the latter’s development of geo-based products and services using its OpenTerra platform, an auto-grade location-based content-as-a-service platform.

This platform leverages from real-time crowdsourced data and AI technologies. It also automatically aggregates and validates data to produce auto-grade maps, ADAS maps and RoadSense data as well.

Grab is planning to use this platform to process data from the fleet of vehicles in order to enhance its location-based services. The company will purchase the technology underlying the platform with plans for certain members of the OpenTerra team to join Grab. On the other hand, Telenav will be able to continue developing the platform in future.
