We’ve been excited about the 2020 Jeep Gladiator since we got our first glimpse of it at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, and then waited eagerly for our chance to drive it and see if it’s just as good as its Wrangler sibling, whose own recent update we love. Now … it’s here.
The Gladiator is a mid-size pickup truck with a single cab configuration — four-door — and one bed size — 5 feet — straight from the factory. Powered by a 3.6-liter V-6 making 285 horsepower and paired to either a six-speed manual (standard) or eight-speed automatic (optional), the Gladiator isn’t a truck for speeding around canyon roads — it’s built to be nearly unstoppable once the pavement ends.
Those abilities set the Gladiator apart from its competition, as do a few features borrowed from the Wrangler. The Gladiator has removable hard- and soft-top roofs available, removable doors and a fold-down windshield just like the Wrangler. If you’ve been looking for a convertible and a pickup but hated the idea of buying two cars — or found that the Chevrolet SSR didn’t quite meet either need — you’re in luck.
If you’d like to know more, we’ve compiled every bit of our Gladiator coverage from both Cars.com and sister site PickupTrucks.com right here. You can find pricing and fuel economy details, what it’s like to drive the Gladiator on- and off-road, and how it stacks up against its competition. You also can find some sweet concept versions of the Gladiator to see what’s possible when Jeep applies its resources to customizing the new truck.
